# Resting

Put your feet up for a bit.

Energy differentials in BaseBrawl play a key component when assessing whether a manoeuvre is successful or not, and as we know by now - hitting manoeuvres successfully is pivotal to victory in the BB squared circle. Resting provides an avenue to restore energy, but comes with a trade off...\
\
When a player rests, they will receive a random value of energy between 20 and 110. They will also receive a random value of dq points (see [Win Conditions](/basebrawl/gameplay/win-conditions.md) for more information on how dq points could cost you the game) between the values of 2 and 6.

Resting will also relinquish control to your opponent, use your rests wisely!
